Trumpeter swans on the easel and also a owl commission.

I recently got a giant( to me ) canvas and decided to do a painting of some trumpeter swans. I saw some photos of golden marshland and I knew I had to incorporate that look into a painting and the vision was with a pair of swans. So far so good. This painting is 40×36 inches I believe and is so far my largest painting to date.

Also on the easel is another burrowing owl. This is basically the same as my photorealistic owl but my cousin was wanting a custom one as she’s more inclined to the painterly/vivid colorful paintings and so I am doing a commission for her. It kind of came about since I start my paintings off sometimes with some bright pink as a wash and then do the sketch and move forward. It’s a very striking look and she of course wanted that feel to it so it’s in the works 🙂 I like these types of commissions as they really push me to try and loosen up and work in a more creative way.
