I have been working on a new watercolor piece. I’ve been wanting to do a magpie for awhile now and finally decided how I was going to portray it. My initial sketches (if you follow me on instagram) were the first thoughts I had and then with some adjusting I landed on a slightly less cluttery look.
Aside from that I am working now on 140lb arches which is first mounted to a cradled art board, to stop the paper from buckling mostly. I am not sure if it’s going to be my preferred method as it’s a bit harder to work with but it will allow me to do much larger watercolor pieces if I ever wish to do so.
Hopefully you think it’s going in the right direction and stay tuned for updates or maybe just the final piece 🙂
